Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to bogota, colombia

Enjoy your arrival to this paradisiacal South American destination with Gotolatam! Upon arrival at the El Dorado International Airport, our staff will assist you and transfer you to your hotel in Bogota. During the journey, which can sometimes be long due to the city traffic, we will brief you about your travel program and give you tips and recommendations to make your stay the best.

Day 2: Bogotá – panoramic city tour & monserrate hill

Discover Bogotá with a panoramic city tour, including its colonial center and cultural highlights. Ascend Monserrate Hill for stunning views of the city and surrounding mountains.

Day 3: Flight to medellin

Day 4: Medellín city tour & graffiti tour

Explore Medellín’s urban transformation on a city tour, then dive into the vibrant culture of Comuna 13 with a graffiti tour full of color, history, and local stories.

Day 5: Medellín – full-day excursion to guatapé & el peñol rock

Day 9: Flight to lima

You’ll take a flight to Lima and be transferred to your hotel in a lively modern district. Flight to the capital means entering a space where stories, colors, and flavors converge. As you adapt again to the city’s rhythm, notice the colonial facades, contemporary buildings, and ocean breeze. The day remains free, time to reconnect with Lima’s pulse, explore familiar streets, or simply rest and reflect in Peru’s ever-evolving coastal capital.

Day 10: Lima city tour

A city tour in Lima, the vibrant capital of Peru, promises an enriching journey through history and culture. Embarking on this adventure unveils a remarkable landmark that showcases Lima's proud heritage. The San Francisco Convent is an architectural gem dating back to colonial times. Your next stop will be at the City Hall, exuding grandeur as it serves as both a symbol of civic pride and administrative power. Beyond lies the iconic Government Palace – an opulent edifice where Peruvian presidents have resided since the country's birth. Next to the Government Palace is the Basilica Cathedral at Plaza de Armas—the heart of Lima’s historical center—where architectural marvels intertwine beautifully with religious devotion. The tour continues into the Miraflores district with its breathtaking coastal views and finalizes at Barranco, known as a cosmopolitan and cultural district.

Day 11: Flight to cusco

Today you’ll head to Cusco, the historic heart of the Inca Empire and gateway to the Sacred Valley. You will be taken to the airport and warmly received upon arrival. Cobblestone streets, colonial charm, and living Andean culture await you. Cusco is a magical blend of past and present, offering travelers an authentic connection to Peru’s rich heritage and unforgettable mountain scenery.

Day 12: Full-day tour to the sacred valley and overnight in aguas calientes

After an early breakfast at your hotel in Cusco, a Gotolatam representative will pick you up to start your Sacred Valley tour. The first stop will be the City of Pisac, a small town with exquisite architecture that is the perfect place to buy authentic Andean souvenirs, known as artesanias. As you browse through the selection of traditional clothing and handicrafts, you'll easily understand why the Pisac market has a reputation of its own. In the afternoon, you will visit Ollantaytambo, which is an Inca site that began as a palace or fortress but was eventually used as the last Inca stronghold against the invading Spanish conquistadors. After an exciting day of archaeological exploration, you will board the train to Machu Picchu town – known as Aguas Calientes – at the Ollantaytambo train station. Upon your arrival in Aguas Calientes, a representative of Gotolatam will be waiting for you at the Aguas Calientes train station to take you to your hotel.

Day 13: Machu picchu tour & return to cusco

Take the bus to the Inca citadel and embark on a guided tour through Machu Picchu’s iconic temples, terraces, and sacred corners. Learn about its historical significance while enjoying stunning views. After the visit, return to Aguas Calientes and spend some free time. Then board the train back and continue to Cusco. This full-day experience blends history, culture, and nature into one unforgettable adventure through one of Peru’s most treasured landmarks.

Day 14: Cusco city tour

You will have the morning free to take a short walk and take some photos around the Historical Center of the city before your half-day city tour begins. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a guided City Tour of Cusco and the surrounding archaeological sites, such as Qorikancha temple – most known as the Temple of the Sun and Sacsayhuaman Fortress – a place that served for the Inti Raymi to take place. You will also visit Tambomachay which is located in the upper part of the beautiful city of Cusco.

Day 15: Full-day tour to the rainbow mountain

On this day, you will enjoy a full-day tour to The Rainbow Mountain. We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco very early in the morning and start driving through the South Valley to the trailhead at Cusipata. After a delicious breakfast, we will begin our walk, following a beautiful path that finishes with an amazing view of Vinicunca Mountain, popularly known as Rainbow Mountain. At the top of Rainbow Mountain, you can have a panoramic view of Ausangate Mountain. When we come back to the base, we will travel to Cusipata to have lunch, and then you will return to the city of Cusco.

Day 16: Flight to lima & departure

Your final day in Peru begins with a free morning to relax or reflect on your journey. You’ll then be transferred to the airport for your flight to Lima. From above, shifting landscapes frame this last stretch, adding a memorable close to your trip. Once in the capital, there will be enough time to connect with your international flight. This final day marks the conclusion of a journey filled with history, culture, and meaningful experiences.
