GOTOLATAM has developed the ultimate itinerary to visit Ecuador and all its regions. From the Galapagos Islands to the Amazon Rainforest of Ecuador, you can enjoy a complete contrast of landscapes day after day.
You embark on your journey to this South American city that offers a balanced mix of cultural exploration and wildlife encounters. Upon arrival at the Mariscal Sucre International Airport, you will be greeted with warm hospitality by our staff who will take you to your hotel for your check-in. You are going to have a free afternoon in Quito to rest and take a short walk around parks and nearby streets. ¡Rest enough and get ready for an amazing travel experience in Quito, Ecuador!
The tour begins by visiting Quito`s downtown, the largest and best-preserved colonial center in South America – Quito Historic Center is also the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in Ecuador. You are going to find impressive places during your city tour in Quito like Independence Square or Plaza Grande, surrounded by important historical buildings followed by a visit to the iconic Church of the Company of Jesus and San Francisco Church and Monastery. We will visit the Equator Line Monument "Middle of the World" where the equatorial line divides the northern and southern hemispheres.
After breakfast, be prepared to visit "The Volcanoes Avenue." One of the world's highest active volcanoes, Cotopaxi (5,897 m), and Limpiopungo Lagoon, a glacial Andean lake located at 3,800 m, along the slopes of the magnificent Cotopaxi Volcano. You will find indigenous markets in this place before returning to Quito.
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to Quito Airport. After a 30-minute commercial flight to Puerto Francisco de Orellana “El Coca,” our representative will transfer you by private transportation to the city’s main dock at the Napo River. Beginning an unforgettable experience in the tropical rainforest, you will have a 2-hour ride in a motorized canoe heading downriver.
Today, you will make your way back to the Napo River and take a motorized canoe ride to the clay licks, one of the most fascinating displays of the wild world. Visit the Kuri Muyu Cultural Center, climbing activities, and an ancestral Catamaran visit.
In the morning, we will walk through an amazing primary forest. There are chances to find some of the iconic mammals in the rainforest, like peccaries, wild pigs, deer, or tapirs, on the Mandi Cocha Lagoon ravages. Here, we get into a fiberglass canoe and paddle through the blackwater-flooded Igapo Forest. See the famous Pimy marmoset, the smallest monkey in the world.
In the morning, after a Wayusa ritual, the lodge staff will assist you with your checked luggage, and the motorized canoe ride will head upstream back to El Coca, where our representatives will take you to the airport to board a domestic flight to Quito and transfer to your selected hotel.
We will pick you up from your accommodation in Quito in the morning and drive you to Mariscal Sucre International Airport so you can board your flight to Baltra Island in the Galapagos. After arriving at the airport, a shuttle will transport you to the Itabaca Channel, where a 20-minute boat journey will take you to Santa Cruz Island. When you arrive on Santa Cruz Island, we begin the trip with an incredible journey across the island's many landscapes and animals. Additionally, you will travel through the Highlands and stop for lunch at one of the many ranches on Santa Cruz Island. Here you are going to have the chance to observe the Giant Tortoise which is an iconic animal of the archipelago. After this visit, we will head to Puerto Ayora to check into your selected hotel for overnight.
Following an early breakfast, you will have the opportunity to take a tour of one of the surrounding islands. By visiting Bartolome Island, you will have the chance to learn more about the richness of the Galapagos. You will be astounded by the abundance of breathtaking landscapes and geological rock formations, like Pinnacle Rock, here. Additionally, you'll get a chance to practice snorkeling and see a wide range of aquatic animals in their natural environment.
Be ready for the most historical day on your visit to Galapagos. Today you will visit North Seymour Island which is the home of a large number of flora and fauna of the Galapagos archipelago. The most outstanding species of North Seymour Island are the Frigate Birds, Land Iguanas, the amazing Blue-footed Boobies, and Sea Lions, marine species that are very beautiful to watch in the turquoise waters around the island.
In the morning, we are going to pick you up from your hotel and transport you to Charles Darwin Station. The main attraction of this place is the Tortoise Breeding Center. Here we are going to have a briefing and historical lesson about the tortoises that habit in the Station. You can also take a walk around the Station and get some wonderful photos of this place and the tortoises. When this visit finishes, we will transfer you to Baltra Airport so you can board your flight to Quito.
Is time to say goodbye. We will transfer you to the Mariscal Sucre International Airport to take your flight back home.
